The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
